A Vegan Feast of African and Caribbean Foods!
The Toronto Black Vegan Pop-Up Market is an opportunity for you to enjoy vegan meals and delicacies with unique African and Caribbean flavours. The menu ranges from vegan versions of African/Caribbean ethnic foods and drinks to new creations that give North American fruits and vegetables an African/Caribbean mouth-watering twist of taste and texture.
Cruelty-free gift items for skin care and plant-based health and wellness developed and sold by African/Caribbean entrepreneurs will also be available. Everyone is welcome!
Pop-Up Market Vendor Information
Food Vending-$300.00
Arts/Crafts/Service Vending-$200.00.
Nonprofit Organizations -$75.00 **
** Please note: No sales are permitted. Nonprofits can only give out information.
All items sold, sampled, promoted, or displayed (including video or photographic depictions) must be vegan.
"Vegan" means free from animal products, including but not limited to meat (including aquatic animals and birds), dairy, eggs, and honey, products that have been tested on animals, textiles made from animal fibers, animals used in entertainment, and animals bred for sale.
BVOT Pop-Up management reserves the right to make a final selection of Vendors and order any items or depictions of things to be removed from the event premises if they are not readily identifiable as vegan.
Promotional Material & Packaging
Supporting literature (e.g., brochures, recipes, product packaging, or inserts) may not promote, display or advocate any non-vegan item.
Vendors must ensure that all recipes distributed at the Pop-Up or printed on any product packaging do not call for non-vegan ingredients.
Images of non-vegan items on the product packaging for vegan items (e.g., seasonings, spice mixes, etc.) are not permitted.
BVOT staff reserve the right to remove any signage deemed unsuitable.
Space Allotment
Vendors must confine their activities to their allotted exhibit space and not solicit beyond these boundaries.
The venue floor plans clearly define each allotted space.
Neither the vendor nor their representatives are permitted to "roam" the event venue to procure or conduct business.
All signage is to remain in the vendor's booth. BVOT Pop-Up staff reserves the right to remove any signage, materials, and person(s) deemed beyond vendor space limits.
Graphic Video Footage
BVOT reserves the right to restrict the display of any graphic video footage such as animal slaughter, unless authorized by BVOT Pop-Up staff.
Food Vendors MUST:
Have proof of completion of the Food Handlers' course.
Supply a menu of food that lists the main ingredients in the food
Fill out and submit the Temporary Food Establishment Application.
Adhere to the requirements of the Public Health guidelines to ensure the protection and safety of the public.
All food concessions will be subject to inspection at the discretion of the Health Department.
Vendor Setup
All vendors must have all goods, supplies, and equipment offloaded by 10:00 am on the day of the Pop-Up. Teardown and pack-up must be completed by 8:00 pm (Sunday, 19, February 2023)
All vendors must staff their site during operating hours. BVOT does not accept responsibility for any Vendor's possessions left onsite for the duration of the Pop-Up.
All vendors must always have their vending display signs visible.
Food and craft will be in separate areas as per Health Department
All vendors must display their exhibits or wares within their assigned areas only.
